Privacy Notice & Child Safety Policy

We collect as little as possible, we never sell data, and children are protected by default. This notice explains what we hold, why, for how long, and how you can have it removed.

Last updated 18 September 2026

1. Who controls your data

The Peace Belongs to ALL movement stewards act as the data controller for information submitted through this website. You can reach us at Contact@peacebelongstoall.com for any privacy request.

2. What we collect and why

  • Pledge details; first name, email, country, optional city and organisation, age category, consents and your seven words. Purpose: to register your pledge, issue your pledge number and, if you consent, display an approved entry on the Peace Wall.
  • Account details; email address and authentication identifiers, if you sign in to start a café or project.
  • Uploaded media; photos or artwork you choose to submit, stored privately until moderation.
  • Participation records; peace actions you mark as done, so we can show your streak and aggregate global totals.
  • Technical data; basic security and error logs needed to keep the site running safely.

3. Legal basis

We process your information on the basis of your consent (which you give when you submit a form and can withdraw at any time) and our legitimate interest in running a safe, moderated platform. Your peace selfie image is composed in your own browser and is not uploaded unless you deliberately submit it.

4. What is never shown publicly

  • Email addresses, city and organisation fields are technically restricted so that public visitors cannot read them.
  • Phone numbers, home or school addresses, school sections and live location are never requested or published.
  • Nothing is published at all until a human moderator approves it.

5. Children and young people

  • A parent or legal guardian must consent before any child participates, and confirms this on the pledge form.
  • Children are displayed by first name and age band only; never full name, school, class, location or contact details.
  • There is no direct messaging, no public contact channel and no follower relationship between users on this site.
  • Children's photos are only ever published where a guardian has explicitly consented, and only after moderation.
  • A parent or guardian can ask us to remove a child's entry at any time and we will action it promptly, without question.

6. Who can see your data

Only trained movement moderators and the technical stewards who maintain the platform. Data is stored with our hosting and database provider under access controls and row-level security rules. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not run advertising networks, third-party trackers or behavioural profiling on this site.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use only what the site needs to work: a sign-in session token if you log in, and a short-lived browser record that remembers you have already seen the opening animation. There are no advertising, analytics-profiling or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. How long we keep information

Pledges and approved public entries are kept while the movement operates, because they form a public record of participation you chose to make. Declined submissions and unapproved uploads are deleted within 90 days. You may ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.

9. Your rights

Write to Contact@peacebelongstoall.com and we will respond within 30 days.

  • Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Withdraw consent and have your pledge, photo or message removed from public display and deleted.
  • Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it.
  • Complain to your local data protection authority if you believe we have handled your data unfairly.

10. Security and breaches

Uploads are stored in a private area, access is restricted by role, and content is separated so that public visitors can only ever read approved, privacy-safe fields. If a breach affecting your rights occurs, we will notify affected people and the relevant authority as required by law.
